THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Business and Professional Women’s Clubs of Ontario to enact legislation changes to the Ontario Studen Assistance Program (OSAP) in order that Consolidated Municipal Services (e.g. Ontario Works) be granted fiscal authority over families and educational benefits to ensure that adequate funds are provided to cover the necessities of life, income to overcome the welfare trap and to adequately pursue an education.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to work with the Federal Government to enact the necessary legislation changes to the NCTB so that adequate funds are provided to cover the necessities of life, income to overcome the welfare trap and to adequately pursue an education.
FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to bring to the attention of The Minister of Community and Social Services and the Minister of Education, Colleges and Universities the recommendations from the Jury’s Inquest into the death of Kimberly Rogers and urges them to work in collaboration with the said Ministries to reconstruct the OSAP and Social Assistance registration process to provide adequate funds to cover the necessities of life, income to overcome the welfare trap and to adequately pursue an education.
AND FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED that BPW Ontario urges the Government of Ontario to work with the Federal Government to reconstruct the NCTB registration process to provide adequate funds to cover the necessities of life, income to overcome the welfare trap and to adequately pursue an education.
